Evesham lies in the heart of the Vale that bears its name, a fertile sweep of land long known for market gardening and orchards. The River Avon curves tightly around the town, almost making an island of it, while the remains of the old abbey still mark the centre. Beyond the rooftops the countryside spreads wide — gentle, green, and lined with villages that seem unchanged for centuries.

Balloon flights launch from Crown Meadow, right by the Avon. As the balloon rises, the river’s loops and meanders stand out clearly, circling the town before winding off towards Pershore. From above you can see how the town grew within its curve, with the tower of the 16th-century Bell Tower rising above the trees.

To the west the outline of the Malvern Hills AONB is unmistakable, a long ridge running north to south. To the east the Cotswolds begin to rise, their stone-built villages and rolling hills catching the morning or evening light. On particularly clear days, the views can stretch far across both regions, giving a sense of how the Vale sits between them.

Every flight here takes on its own character. Some evenings the balloon drifts low, close enough to follow the Avon’s bends and pick out the patchwork of orchards and fields below. Other mornings the breeze carries you high, where the whole Vale of Evesham spreads out like a map, edged by hills on both sides. However it unfolds, a launch from Evesham is more than just a flight — it’s a calm way to see one of England’s most fertile and historic landscapes from above.
